POWDER COATING RIMS
Powder Coating Rims in North York
We strip, repair and powder coat wheels in any colour, then oven cure them to a finish that resists curb rash, brake dust and road salt far better than wheel paint. Curb damage and grooves are filled and levelled before coating, so you get wheels that look new rather than touched up. Sets start at $599.

WHY POWDER COATING
Painted Wheels Never Last
Wheel paint sits on the surface and stays soft. Brake dust is abrasive and hot, road salt is corrosive, and a single winter in the GTA is enough to start lifting it at the edges. Once it chips, moisture gets underneath and the whole finish starts peeling off in sheets.
Powder coating is a dry powder applied electrostatically, then baked in an oven until it flows into a single hard shell bonded to the metal. There is no solvent to evaporate and nothing to peel at the edge. It handles brake heat, resists chemicals, and takes a curb scuff without flaking the whole face.
Aftercare
Keeping Them Clean
Powder coating is hard wearing but brake dust is corrosive if it sits, particularly on light colours through a salted winter. Give the wheels 48 hours before the first wash and keep acid wheel cleaners away from them permanently. Follow the 3 rules below and the finish holds its colour and gloss for years.
01
WASH
pH neutral wheel cleaner and a soft brush. Never acid based cleaners.
02
TIMING
Wash wheels before the rest of the car, while they are cool, never hot from driving.
03
WINTER
Rinse salt off weekly. It sits in the barrel where you cannot see it.

HOW LONG DOES POWDER COATING LAST ON WHEELS?
On wheels that are washed properly, a powder coated finish holds up for years and outlasts wheel paint by a wide margin. What shortens it is acid wheel cleaner and brake dust left to bake on. A fresh curb scuff can be repaired and recoated on that wheel alone.
CAN YOU FIX CURB RASH BEFORE COATING?
Yes, and it is the most common reason wheels come to us. Grooves and gouges are filled and levelled back to the original profile before any colour goes on, so the repair disappears under the finish rather than showing through it. Deep damage into the structure of the wheel is a different conversation.
DO I NEED TO BRING THE WHEELS OFF THE CAR?
You can either drop the wheels off loose or bring the car in and we take them off. Tires have to come off the rims for coating, so mounting and balancing is part of the job if the wheels arrive with tires on. That is quoted separately.
WHAT COLOURS CAN I GET?
Almost anything. Gloss black, satin black, bronze, gunmetal and silver are the most common, but powder comes in the full range including candy, metallic and chrome effect finishes. Bring a reference photo and we will match it or tell you honestly if the effect is not achievable in powder.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
A standard single colour set is around 2 days. Wheels needing curb repair run 2 to 3, and multi stage premium finishes around 3. The oven cure cannot be rushed, so we do not hand wheels back early.
CAN YOU POWDER COAT BRAKE CALIPERS TOO?
Calipers are a different process because of the heat they see and the components inside them. Ask when you book and we will tell you what is possible on your vehicle rather than promising something that will not hold up.
