Larger wheels, run flats and low profile tires take more time and are quoted on inspection. Starting prices for a set of 4 up to 20 inches. TPMS sensors, valve stems and tire disposal quoted separately.

WHY WINTER TIRES
It Is the Rubber Not the Tread
Most drivers think winter tires are about the tread pattern. The bigger difference is the rubber compound. All season tires harden below roughly 7 degrees and lose grip on cold dry pavement, well before there is any snow on the ground. That is why a November morning in North York is already winter tire weather.
Ontario insurers offer a discount for running winter tires, which usually covers a meaningful part of what the set costs over its life. Running them also doubles the life of your summer tires, since each set only does half the year. Book the changeover early. The 2 weeks after the first real snowfall are the busiest of the year at every shop in the GTA.

Tire pressure drops roughly 1 PSI for every 5 degrees the temperature falls, which is why half the cars on the road in January are underinflated. Underinflated tires wear the shoulders, burn fuel and handle badly. Follow the 3 rules below and get far more life out of every set.

WHEN SHOULD I PUT WINTER TIRES ON IN ONTARIO?
When daytime temperatures are consistently around 7 degrees or below, which in the GTA usually means late October or early November. That is before the first snowfall, not after it. All season rubber hardens in the cold and loses grip on dry pavement well before there is anything on the road.
DO YOU STORE TIRES OVER THE SEASON?
Yes. Your off season set stays with us until the changeover comes around again, so you are not giving up garage space or moving 4 tires in and out of a car. Book the swap and add storage when you come in.
HOW LONG DOES A TIRE SWAP TAKE?
A straight seasonal swap with tires already on rims is usually done while you wait, around 30 to 45 minutes. Mounting new rubber onto existing rims takes longer because each tire comes off and goes back on the wheel and gets balanced. Book ahead in changeover season either way.
WHAT IS ROAD FORCE BALANCING?
Standard balancing corrects weight distribution. Road force balancing also measures how the tire behaves under load, which catches vibration that standard balancing misses. If your steering wheel still shakes after a normal balance, this is usually what finds the problem.
WHY IS MY TPMS LIGHT ON?
Usually low pressure, and it often appears on the first cold morning of the season because pressure drops with temperature. If the pressures are correct and the light stays on, a sensor has failed or was not reset after a swap. Bring it in and we will read the fault rather than guessing.
MY TIRES ARE WEARING UNEVENLY, IS THAT THE TIRES?
Rarely. Wear on one edge almost always points to alignment, and cupped or patchy wear points to worn suspension. Fitting new tires without fixing the cause just ruins the new set. We will put the car on the hoist and tell you which it is.
